The Politics of Deception and the Price Fairburn Will Pay When truth is rejected, decline becomes inevitable.

I have always been a source of truth. I gain nothing from telling lies, which is why I refuse to protect the feelings of leaders who operate from illegitimacy, deception, and political convenience. Long before I ever ran for office, this was my position. I have always believed the truth matters — even when people are uncomfortable hearing it. What troubles me most is that many of you have been shown the truth with receipts, documentation, public records, and evidence, yet still choose to ignore it. Instead, you criticize the truth while elevating the lies of people who smile in your face while robbing your tax dollars and quietly leading this city toward decline. Many have embraced willful ignorance — intentionally rejecting facts while shadow-banning and attacking those willing to speak openly. Meanwhile, the gatekeepers in this town work overtime to keep people uninformed, loyal, distracted, and dependent on their agenda. There’s an old saying: the very thing that makes you laugh today will make you cry tomorrow. My projection is that many still won’t understand the seriousness of what is happening until they are sitting in the dark inside a $400,000 home, eating canned sardines and soda crackers because utility bills and rising costs have become unbearable. That is not fearmongering. That is the trajectory of failed leadership, reckless development, unchecked utility burdens, and political deception. I am not ashamed, intimidated, bought, or controlled. I remain unbossed and objective enough to speak plainly, even when it costs me politically. Leadership requires honesty, not performance. If anyone genuinely wants to understand the what, why, and how behind the concerns I’ve raised, all you have to do is email me or request a meeting. I have never hidden from hard conversations. And yes, this is a majority-Black community. So if people are asking why conditions continue to decline, accountability must begin with the mirror. The level of misogyny, disrespect, and hostility shown toward me by many Black men in Fairburn — often without cause — was revealing. It exposed a deeper issue within our own community regarding how Black women are treated when they speak with authority, conviction, and independence. Many of you showed exactly why so many Black women no longer trust certain men to lead. Look at what has happened under the leadership of Fairburn’s first Black male mayor. Even in his absence, the same network continues pushing division, deception, and policies that benefit warehouse developers over residents. Hattie, Linda, Perry, and Alex all received developer support. The only exceptions were Smallwood and Shanita. Yet many still chose loyalty to deception over truth. Make no mistake: eventually, people will realize they consumed the poisoned apple being handed to them with a smile — and by then, the damage may already be done. This is not a campaign of fear. It is a warning rooted in observation, facts, and concern for the future of this city. More importantly, I have options, and I know my value. I am not dependent on politics for identity, validation, or survival. Long before this moment, I built a life grounded in education, service, leadership, and scholarship. I authored research that is now published and archived in the Library of Congress, received prestigious recognition for that work through a Walden University research grant, and have expanded onto national platforms where my voice, expertise, and leadership continue to be recognized. So, let me be clear: if I choose to remain in politics, it will be because I decide to — not because a group of local gatekeepers, political operatives, or bitter individuals believe they have the authority to define my future. No one decides my ceiling except me and God.

What many of you failed to understand is that leadership is not confined to a seat, a title, or a municipality. Real leadership follows influence, integrity, courage, and impact. Those things cannot be impeached, removed, silenced, or voted away. I have already proven I can stand alone, speak alone, and fight alone if necessary. That alone separates me from many who depend on political alliances, favoritism, and manipulation to survive.

So, whether I remain in politics, expand nationally, continue advocacy work, or pursue entirely different ventures, understand this: I will continue to thrive because my value was never tied to their acceptance. And to those celebrating as though you have somehow taken something from me — understand this clearly: truth does not lose simply because people reject it. Time has a way of revealing everything.
