Serving by leading

Hello and welcome to our community engagement headquarters! I am super excited about gaining the role as council member and more importantly serving all of Fairburn. I accepted this role with the intentional focus to serve citizens in a way that leverages our tax dollar and make Fairburn stronger and healthier.

Community is unity. It’s people coming together as one to support different ideologies and to create a sense of togetherness in a group. Community is important because it’s the foundation for all the people that live in it. With this becomes the opportunity to make substantial change. There is no ‘I” in team and our collective work together will move Fairburn forward.

Leadership is privilege and I count it as a honor to have this opportunity to lead our community in a collective way. What we are doing for others requires the thought and value of how we serve. I believe that if serving id beneath you, then leadership is beyond us. I sincerely have the desire to lead our city with the value of service first.

“Twenty-first-century leadership relationship dynamics are from the bottom up rather than the top down; from the outside in, rather than the inside out.” (Lao, TZO).

Collective leadership in my experience, bridges the gaps between community and government when inclusive approaches are considered and implemented. In the upcoming weeks you can anticipate seeing a deep dive into learning the operational functions of our city government and creative activites to learn even more about “YOUR” vision for our city. We are one community with many parts and one voice that represents all of Fairburn!
